A year of milestones, success stories, and future endeavours

Maximising your holiday let’s booking revenue is the primary goal that our team is dedicated to, every day of the week.  We continue to step up, to honour the roots to HolidayHost’s success and to launch new initiatives, propelling our service forward with integrity.

Our roots lie in five-star hospitality and from the beginning we’ve been wholeheartedly committed to putting personal, expert service first.  We limit the number of holiday lets to a maximum of fifty in any one Host area.  We reached fifty in the South Hams district earlier this year - fanfare please!  In answer to this milestone, Annie Lobo now joins our team, bringing exacting standards and a personal service from her twenty years in luxury vacation rentals in Florida, to Host a selection of the fifty holiday lets.

The top rate of a holiday let hosted by us has reached new heights on multiple occasions this year - £8,750/wk the current peak, with properties like The Reaches South Sands, Bar Lodge Bolt Head and Woodside Salcombe, coming aboard with us, booking at high rates and within 48hrs in some instances.  This proves what you and we have known for some time:  Airbnb and Vrbo are the way, to maximise booking revenue, for all types of holiday lets including the high-end.

Stories of empowered owners, benefiting from HolidayHost’s smarter way to earn from and own a holiday let, continues to drive and delight us.  Like the owner of Rockhill Thurlestone, who after a modest refurbishment, pleased with the high year-one earnings we achieved for him, is planning reinvestment, broadening the property offering for future guests and family too.

On regulatory changes arising, we remain vigilant, informed by our trade bodies STAA and PASC UK. One notable change is a new law requiring all holiday lets to have a Fire Risk Assessment, starting from October 1st.  This assessment is something we already require for the properties we host.  The safety and well-being of guests must always be paramount.  We continue to welcome regulation when it improves safety for guests and assurances for owners.

A booking trend for your interest includes 20-30% guests now preferring to book their accommodation within 1 to 21 days before their arrival (5% of bookings are made within 48 hours of arrival!). Servicing such last-minute bookings has posed very challenging for some property management, housekeeping, and maintenance suppliers, due to the limited time available for property preparation in some events.  We continue to communicate promptly and to encourage suppliers, to maximise booking opportunities at your holiday let.

In addition to Annie Lobo, we are delighted to be successful in attracting talented individuals to our team, people who are passionate about the holiday let model and its future, like Sharon Rogers who is Host for the Torbay area. Furthermore, we continue with our six monthly systems updates, keeping our web app ahead of the curve for everyone.
