Where Sue started
Sue owned Crowthers Hill, a two-bedroom holiday home sleeping four in Dartmouth. Before joining HolidayHost, she had placed the property with a large holiday letting company but was disappointed by the results and the lack of ideas for improving them.
I didn’t feel that this was a concern to them and neither did they come up with suggestions to drive bookings.

Taking the plunge
Despite wanting something to change, moving to a different company felt like a significant decision. Sue admits she was “very nervous about changing companies”, describing her initial thinking as “better the devil you know”.
Eventually, she decided to make the move.
However, I took the plunge and immediately I saw the difference.

Working with Annie
Sue joined HolidayHost and began working with Annie, her local Host. What stood out was the proactive approach she had been looking for. Rather than waiting for bookings to arrive, Annie and the wider HolidayHost team regularly considered what else could be done to support the property’s performance.
Annie and the team are very proactive and they were constantly making suggestions about how to increase bookings even more.

That combination of ideas, communication and personal attention gave Sue confidence that the people looking after Crowthers Hill were actively working in her interests. She remained with HolidayHost for approximately 12 months, until the property was sold and was no longer available as a holiday let.
Reflecting on the experience, Sue said: “It was a pleasure to work with HolidayHost. With Annie and HolidayHost you will get a personal service with the team working in your interests.”
